In need of care, disabled, depressed or even dead

because of an

antibiotic?

Or: How I came very close to the abyss myself 🍀

😨 When I had (extreme) stomach pains a few years ago, I did what "you do in this situation":

🧨I went to the doctor. 🩺

🧨After a few minutes, I went to the pharmacy with a prescription.

🧨There I got the "saving antibiotic". One (as I found out later) from the group of so-called fluoroquinolones💊 (with *floxacin in the name...)

After a few days, my abdominal pain was still there, but suddenly I could no longer walk properly: I woke up in the morning and had incredible pain throughout my body. My archilles tendons were on fire. I couldn't climb stairs without holding myself up...

I got scared. Scared to death.😨

I was incredibly lucky and found a way out (myself): after the doctor had poured some more "oil on the fire". 🚒

Many thousands and thousands of people worldwide did not have this: they are permanently disabled, in need of care or die early, as was impressively presented at an EMA hearing in 2018:💀

When I saw this (I was already affected myself at the time), it sent shivers down my spine😱

"Shortly" after the EMA hearing, on my birthday in 2019🥳, a "Red Hand Letter" was sent out to all doctors:
https://www.bfarm.de/SharedDocs/RiskInformation/Pharmacovigilance/DE/RHB/2019/rhb-fluorquinolone.pdf?__blob=publicationFile

The message: Only use fluoroquinolones as a reserve antibiotic in an emergency when life or death is at stake. 🧯

⚠️Obwohl I keep hearing from friends and family members that they continue to be prescribed medication of this technology by their GP...

🚸If this shocks you, search the internet for "fluoroquinolone toxicity", or read the article in Der Spiegel: https://www.spiegel.de/spiegel/antibiotika-fluorchinolone-schreckliche-nebenwirkung-a-1134102.html

Does this sound familiar to anyone else?

Let's learn from the past and make the world a better place...
