THE STORY.

THE BEGINNING
FROM THE BEGINNING.

I AM NOT A DOCTOR.

I AM NOT A DIETICIAN.
I AM NOT A SCIENTIST.
I AM NOT ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE YOU IMMEDIATELY THINK OF WHEN IT COMES TO ADVICE ON HEALTH AND NUTRITION.

I am a person who has gone through years of illness.
Through a so-called"autoimmune disease"

Through this journey, I have discovered something that I would very much like to share with you.

Tobias Stumpfl

MY CROHN'S DISEASE CRISIS.

HAS CHANGED MY LIFE.

FASTER, HIGHER, FURTHER...

PERFORMANCE AS A RAISON D'ÊTRE.

I grew up in a family of entrepreneurs. My parents put their heart and soul into building up a business. It is said that first-born children, and I am one, are particularly strongly oriented towards their parents' behavior and tend to follow their parents' path more closely. They often develop a lot of ambition, determination and perfectionism.

In my case, it looked like this: As an eight-year-old, I wanted to travel by plane on my own. At twelve, I started managing a software development project for an Austrian airline, and at 14 I went on my first expedition to the Andes to climb mountains almost 7,000 meters high.

Back then, I was a RECOGNITION JUNKIE:
In search of an ever-increasing dose of admiration.

THINK AHEAD. ANALYZE. GREENING.

Consider all eventualities.

I trained as a software developer, business economist and commercial pilot. These are all training courses where you get recognition for analytically considering as many "dangers" and eventualities as possible and preparing for them. This is a discipline I was very good at, which is why I was able to celebrate success in these professions quickly.

I "perfected" my "faster, higher, further" quest for recognition.

The downside: constant brooding and worrying creates a latent feeling of anxiety. And this also has a biochemical effect on the body.

THE CRASH.

I had to deal with health problems more and more frequently. Infections here, infections there, various operations. At the age of 16, I slipped into my first serious health crisis: I suddenly developed a dangerously high fever and was hospitalized for several weeks.

Today, I call events of this kind "warning signs". Invitations to change my life. There were many of them in my life. I consistently ignored them all.

I got the feeling that something wasn't right in my body. However, this something had not yet been found. Even regular visits to the doctor couldn't change that: Blood tests, MRI scans, ultrasounds, medication. When someone invited me to question my life and look for alternatives, I rejected the invitation. My credo: there's only conventional medicine and everything else is just swearing, esotericism. This went on for a few years until nothing worked anymore.

This moment is crystal clear in my memory:
It was a rainy Friday evening in the early fall of 2019. A call from the hospital. the senior physician gives me the diagnosis "Crohn's disease": Incurable.

THE JOURNEY.

Due to the medication I was offered at the time, I was suddenly barely able to walk. It was a bitter fall for someone who had always done a lot of sport. I could hardly be there for my family, my wife and my children. I, or rather my situation, had become a huge burden for all of us. The pressure of suffering was now great enough: I had reached the lowest point of my life.

This lack of perspective was ultimately the prerequisite for my development: on the one hand, I knew that the therapies on offer were not a solution for me, but on the other, I wanted nothing more than to be completely healthy. They say: you have 1,000 wishes in life unless you are ill: then you have just one wish.

What I didn't know at the time was that a journey had begun for me.

I went on a pilgrimage from doctor to doctor, trying various diets that promised relief: TCM, vegan, Ayurveda, F.X. Mayr to name just a few prominent examples. This had bought me some time, but no solution. I was still ill.

At some point I started reading specialist books and scientific publications. I was less interested in clinical studies and much more in basic research in biochemistry. This practice is now my hobby, even my passion. I often spend hours educating myself in this field. The knowledge I gained from this and many other inputs from my mentors later led me to develop my lifestyle in such a way that healing became possible.

TODAY I AM HEALTHY. TOTALLY HEALTHY.

The open-ended scale of BEING HEALTHY.

You don't usually fall ill overnight. At least in my case - looking back - I slowly developed more and more symptoms over the course of a few years. The process was slow and I got used to some of the restrictions and the many medications I had to take.

Today, I am convinced that you can not only stop such a decline, but also reverse it (at least partially). It is important to reverse the trend and instead of getting sicker and sicker, to become steadily healthier again. "Sick" and "healthy" are not absolute states and the scale of "healthy" in particular is open at the top. 5 years have passed since I took my last medication.

TODAY I FEEL HEALTHIER, MORE ENERGETIC, STRONGER AND:

HAPPIER.

Than before the crisis. It has become my passion to research how far I can develop my own health.

THE FAMILY PROJECT.

Our nutritional philosophy is an essential pillar of my life.

I'm often asked something like this:

"How does that work with your diet and the family?"
"The others eat normally anyway, right?"

I may be biased, but I think the following is a good indicator: it's not uncommon for parents of our children's friends to tell us that they've been told to cook what their children have eaten at our restaurant: Because it tastes so good to them.

In any case, my wife, my children and I share a passion for good, comforting food and we all eat the same dishes. To be honest, we don't even have any other ingredients at home...
